EVERIST PROKOFIEV
Everist Prokofiev’s paintings celebrate the beauty of the Canadian landscape through highly textured, vibrant canvases. Born in Poland and raised in Toronto, Prokofiev was encouraged to follow in the musical footsteps of his uncle, the renowned composer Sergei Prokofiev. However, painting—not music—became his true passion.
Trained at OCAD University and mentored by established artists, Prokofiev developed a signature style that merges bold coluor with sculptural textures, creating rhythmic compositions full of vitality. Using high-viscosity acrylic paint, he achieves an oil-like richness while layering thick, dynamic strokes. Alternating between palette knives and brushes, his works capture the harmony and repetition found in wooded landscapes with a striking sense of movement and depth.
Prokofiev’s art has been exhibited internationally, including at the Artistes du Monde Exposition International in Cannes, the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, and the Living Arts Centre. His pieces are part of private and corporate collections across North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and the Middle East, including institutions like the Canadian Heritage Warplane Museum Archives.
Currently, Prokofiev lives and works in Quebec's scenic Charlevoix region.
