CELESTE KIM

Celeste Kim is an expressive painter whose practice blends storytelling with abstraction. Working in acrylic and mixed media on canvas, she layers textures, colours, and materials to give form to emotion and memory. Her work often begins with personal writing or poetry, where words evolve into rhythm, movement, and colour on the canvas.

Nature—especially flowers—is central to her visual language. For Kim, each flower represents a soul: singular, vibrant, and fleeting. Through this recurring motif, she reflects on life’s fragile yet powerful cycles—the grace of becoming, the freedom of flourishing, and the quiet dignity of letting go. Her approach transforms the flower from a decorative subject into a symbol of resilience, joy, and vulnerability.

Kim’s paintings carry a whimsical yet introspective quality, creating spaces where viewers can pause and connect with layers of feeling. She describes her process as intuitive, allowing chance and gesture to guide her. The result is work that feels at once poetic and alive, inviting deep personal reflection.

Celeste studied Fine Art and Communication Design at OCAD University, where she developed a multidisciplinary perspective and a strong foundation in visual storytelling.
