BILL LUNSHOF

Newmarket-based fine artist Bill Lunshof grew up in a Dutch immigrant family and developed an early passion for the visual arts. Since beginning to paint in 2010, nature and its quiet magic have been central to his artistic inspiration.

Working primarily in water-soluble oils, and occasionally in gouache and watercolour, Bill’s paintings explore color, line, texture, and light—revealing the beauty in both organic and manmade forms. His subjects often include rural scenes featuring old barns, houses, and vehicles, reflecting his fascination with how light transforms the landscape.

An avid plein air painter, Bill can often be found with his easel set up in and around his hometown of Newmarket, Ontario, capturing the world directly from nature.

He is an active member of the Newmarket Group of Artists, where he volunteers to help organize the annual ArtWalk, and the Society of York Region Artists (SOYRA), where he serves on the Executive Committee.
